‘Tis the season to deck the halls and decorate your walls!

Join us for a day dedicated to creativity, community, and the crafts of the season. Each historic house will have creative activities and workshops for kids and adults alike. The day will include demonstrations from local artists and designers and several of the houses will have “makerspaces” where guests can create their own one of a kind ornaments, wreaths, cards, and other seasonal crafts.

PLUS! Family Day at Lemon Hill Mansion: 
10 am – 3 pm: visit with Santa

3:30-4:30: A family friendly performance of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”
Tickets are included with $8 admission to Lemon Hill. Free for children under 12.

Laurel Hill: Artists Kendyl Boyd (Moore College of Art and Design) and Madeline Wilk (Tyler School of Art) present: Watercolor-Printmaking Greeting Cards

Woodford:  International Fiber & Textile Artist Mi-Kyoung Lee, Director of UArts’ Fibers program, presents: holiday ornaments, decorations, and wearable objects with needle felting  

Historic Strawberry Mansion: Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts presents: Fashion your own festive holiday or historical themed paper-made serving plate inspired by classical transfer print pottery!

Cedar Grove: Exploring Paper Crafts

AM: Stephen Coleman, arts educator with Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts presents: Miniature Historic House Ornaments.

PM: Artist Lisa Ayame Eckenrode presents: Recycled Kaleidocycles, re-purposing materials to create and decorate a functioning kaleidocycle

Participating historic houses include: Cedar Grove, Historic Strawberry Mansion, Laurel Hill Mansion, Lemon Hill Mansion, Mount Pleasant, and Woodford Mansion.

New for 2019! On “Crafts of the Season” and other Special Event Days, PHLASH buses will stop at Ridgeland Mansion for a delicious HOLIDAY LUNCH for only $10, provided by Joshua’s Catering from 11am – 3pm! Includes hot coffee or tea, soup of your choice, sandwich of your choice, and cookies.
