There’s something special about experiencing Philadelphia during the winter holiday season. From festive flavors, to holiday shopping and special events, it is a time when visitors and local Philadelphians alike are invited to partake in all of the unique, seasonal offerings available in our own metropolitan backyard.

The Independence Visitor Center Corporation (IVCC) is honored to partner for a second year with the Fairmount Park Conservancy and support this year’s holiday festivities, Christmas in the Park featuring A Very Philly Christmas. Visitors are invited to utilize the Holiday Houses Loop serviced by the Philly PHLASH Downtown Bus Loop when visiting the historic houses throughout Fairmount Park. For over four decades, it has become tradition for the historic houses to open their doors to visitors and locals during the holiday season. It is the perfect way for Philly to celebrate its rich history and one of America’s great public spaces.

Together, we’ve coordinated a special Holiday Houses Loop, which will run every Thursday through Sunday, now through December 18, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., with service every 30 minutes.  For only $2 per ride or $5 for an all-day pass, the PHLASH is the easiest and most affordable way to experience Christmas in the Park and A Very Philly Christmas in addition to seasonal attractions available at 22 stops located throughout Center City Philadelphia. Hop on PHLASH and transfer to the Holiday Houses Loop at Stop 11 located outside the West Entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Click “GET TICKETS” to purchase an all-access PHLASH + A Very Philly Christmas discounted combo pass for $40.00.

Since the IVCC began managing the Philly PHLASH in 2012, we’ve seen a huge increase in ridership which has prompted us to lengthen each season, expand the PHLASH route, and upgrade to a fleet of state-of-the-art buses to make visitors more comfortable while they navigate the city of Philadelphia. Seniors, children 4 and under, STAMP pass holders, and SEPTA key and pass holders all ride PHLASH for free. Park & Ride discounts are also available at select Philadelphia Parking Authority garages. Regular PHLASH service runs daily now through December 31, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. PHLASH will not operate on Christmas Day. For more information about the PHLASH service, visit phillyPHLASH.com.

Also managed by the IVCC, the Independence Visitor Center and City Hall Visitor Center are ready to greet visitors looking to explore Fairmount Park. Speak to a knowledgeable and hospitable Visitor Services Representatives to plan your day. Our representatives are multilingual and can assist you with anything from turn-by-turn directions to booking a hotel room and beyond. If you’re looking to explore other key attractions in the city before venturing to Fairmount Park, come see us first and we’ll make it easy and fun!

On behalf of the IVCC, we’re happy to be working with the Fairmount Park Conservancy to make your holiday experience in Philadelphia unforgettable.

Happy Holidays!
